What is this big bump above my vagina?!

Question: i have a circular bump about an inch in diameter on the top of my vagina. it is about four or five inches below my belly button. it is not directly ON the lips of my vagina, it is about two inches above that or so. i first noticed it about three days ago. it is slightly red and tender when touched, but it doesn't itch or hurt. it feels as though it is below the skin. i've been putting bacitracin on it and it has gotten a bit better. what is it? and what should i do? thank you!

Do you shave your nether regions? It sounds like an ingrown hair and totally common if you frequently shave, your razor may have been dull the last time you shaved.

It could also be a boil. Does it have a head? A little while spot that's come to the surface? If so, gross... but pop it, then pat the puss with a piece of toilet paper.

It may also be from your underwear rubbing against your skin there and it's created a little cut that's turning into a gash.

If it doesn't go away in a week's time make an appointment with your gyno and she'll be able to help you out.

Sounds like you are about to have a second head down there! To have it removed would be murder!

If it's not herpes then maybe a razor burn? If it starts to discharge it is herpes. If you shave down there and the hair dips below the skin a red bump can appear. It's like a zit.

Okay, so are you talking that this is on the pubic bone area? Could be an ingrown hair.

Or is it IN the vagina? Run to gyno!

It could be an ingrown hair.

It could be a boil.

It could also be an enlarged gland, have you had any illness? even a cold??

It could be lots of things - get it checked by a Dr.

My first guess without seeing it would be a boil, second guess would be a cyst either tissue or hair. Go to the doctor, he may wait to see what happens and want to see you several times, you do not want to get infection there so, don't mess with it.
