Have you ever felt your heart jump and kick around in your chest for no reason?!

Question: No drugs, no caffeine, no anything I can link this to.

It started last night. Then stopped. Now it started again 24 hours later. It makes my blood rush in my ears. When I feel my pulse, it stops and starts. This is very creepy, though not at all painful. It makes me catch my breath when it happens.

It is like having a little chipmunk in my chest jumping around. I don't feel like I am in danger of dying, and don't want to alarm my teenage daughter upstairs to drive me to the ER.

Do any of you have any real reason to think that I should?

Here's the thing.......it's probably nothing, but it did happen again....a palpitation,irregularity.....doctors are not always right and sometimes guess or "blow smoke up........"however it is your heart and you have children.....nobody likes going to the doctor but when was your last physical? Early diagnosis and prevention are key sometimes.....Use your medical insurance...take a stress test...it added 6 years to an older friend of mine's life.....it might save yours...if it's nothing then "let them tell you that"......do you want to worry or can you just 'forgeddaboutit'........we sometimes give our cars better care than our own bodies, which are also "machines"with moving parts that wear out and need maintenance.....

You need to go to your local ER now. You may have something as simple as an irregular heart beat, or it may be something serious. But dont mess around and wait it out, or you may not wake up in the morning. SOmething is wrong, espically if you are not feeling right. The only way to tell is to have them do an ECG, and have the cardiologist read your strip... please for you and your daughters sake go now!!

This same thing happened to me & when I went to the doctor for it they just told me it was anxiety. Why? I have no clue..it just happened. You should probably go to the doctor though, just to be sure.

its irregular. get it checked out, even if you think it's nothing. these things can become serious... definitely run some tests and get the cardiologist to check you out.
