Breaking out in Hives???!
Question: I broke out with hives for 4 days and Benadryl nor Claratyn would clear it up.So, I went to the ER and they gave me meds thru the IV. I had been having these breakouts on my eyes, lips, everywhere now, and its happening more and more.
Should I go see an allergist? Could it be an underlying problem?

Yes, go to an allergist for testing. If you don't know what's causing it then there's no way to avoid it.
If you're allgeric to dust and other such things, no amount of meds will make the reaction go away completely if you're still exposing yourself to dust.
You can also try antihistamines from other drug families. Not all work for everyone. I use mainly Benadryl (Diphenhydramine hydrochloride) as Claritin (Loratadine) gives me a huge headache and causes nausea. This link will help you with the antihistamine families:

Remember, don't go by their brand name, look at the ingredients. Many use the same formula under different names.
Most likely the hospital would have given you Benadryl and Cortizone in the IV, but it might have been something else.
