How Household Chemicals Effect Your Liver?!
Question: Hi, a friend of mine has worked with household, and strong commercial cemicals for 17 years. She has been sick for 2 years now with elevated liver enzemyes, as well as other health problems. All Dr's are confused on what or how this is effecting her liver, or what tests can be done? Are the doctors aware of her work environment? Is she seeing a liver specialist (gastroenterologist or hepatologist)? Everything you eat, drink, inhale, or put on your skin is filtered by the liver. Long term exposure to chemicals can cause injury to the liver, detected by elevated liver enzymes. If other liver problems, such a hepatitis, etc, have been tested for and eliminated, she should remove herself from the toxic environment and see if her enzymes improve. Best wishes.
