We had to deal with my Husbands first brush with cancer this year. It really does depend upon what type he has. One is not necessarily as bad as the other.
Being informed makes medical situations much easier to deal with. The Internet is amazing for research. Help him do homework so you will know what is going on and just be supportive of the family.
This a long process, some act fast but others are much slower and treatable.
Do not panic or think the worst until you are educated on what type he actually has.
MELANOMA is the fastest acting, that is what my Husband has, and we are in the wait and see mode, after having a biopsy, removal surgery and plastic surgery this fall.

Just Be There For Your Boyfriend OK You Just Let Him Deal With It The Way He Wants OK Dint Presser Him Let Him Talk When He Went To Don't You Tell Him Just Let Him Know Your There For Him And If He Needs A Shoulder Yours Is There OK
Let him talk and/or cry. Be close to him if he will let you. He also probably wants space as he is trying to come to terms with it. Don't put pressure on him at this time.
Oh my! I understand the shock of hearing this news! Yes, I am sure he is very upset and needs your support too! However, I will suggest that you pray for his uncle and ask God for healing. Pray, and ask God for the words to comfort your boyfriend. God will guide all of you, if only you place your trust, in Him.
I want you to know that there is much power in prayer and I too, will join you in these prayers. You will not have to, "deal with this" if God is guiding you!
