Burns help................?!

Question: on thursday i managed to burn my forearm (bout two inches above my wrist) on a baking tray an i done the usual ie. run it under the cold tap. but today (sunday) its still incredibly sore and painful. it hurts to even move my wrist. its blistered and part of it has become an open wound. oh and it seems like the redness is spreading from the actual burn.
ive burned myself loads of times before but this has never happened so im not sure.
what should i be doing with it?
dunno if i should go see GP cause it looks pretty bad or to leave it.
and is the redness spreading a sign of infection?

Cover the area with a clean, preferably sterile dressing. The open area is susceptible to infection,. This is a significant burn if it has blistered, do not attempt to pop them yourself. If you can see your GP or practice nurse tomorrow then please do so. Failing that go to A&E or a local "drop in" centre. Take some paracetamol for the pain and try to keep the affected area cool.
Good luck x

go to your local casualty or minor injury unit - you might have an infection in there

could be infected - i would be off to the hospital if it is really painful

Hiya, That sounds so painful, it could be infected, do you have a nurse at your doctors she could perhaps see to your burn. If not go to the doctors he/she will put a dressing on it for you please don't leave it it could turn nasty. Good Luck.

If there is redness spreading from the injury site then you must get a doc to look at it. You may have an infection and this can be quite serious. You may have damaged deep layers of flesh which can start to die and this can spread to surrounding healthy flesh - Necrotizing fasciitis is one of the complications of this.

I would get it checked out to see if it is infected, if not try and get hold of some forever living aloe gel, they use it in the burns unit at great ormond street and it heels it really fast and stops it hurting. try on ebay for a sample or if you struggle I know a lady who sells it from the supplier, so mail me and i will give you her details.
I have used it on a burn and it works wonders.

My husband got all his arm burned with hot water we ran it under tap but he would not go to doctors or anywhere i put clean dressings on and when i finally got him to go 4 days later after i got panicky they said we had done everything right but redressed it the yellow fluid he had was from the weeping where blisters had burst causing open wounds do try and go to get it dressed they are brilliant and they have up to date dressings that help healing without scaring dressings should not be changed all the time as this is not good so they said but please see your doctor hope you OK.

ok you should probably visit a doctor. you might have a serious third degree burn abd need special antibiotics wich of course nio one likes to take. but still if you want it to stop visit a doctor soon.
