Lymph Node Biopsy?!

Question: Well I have these lymph nodes that have been solid for quite a couple of months now and haven't gone down with any medicines over time. I am seeing a doctor tomorrow and going to talk about the possibilties of it being a tumor. If she suggests a biopsy, I wanted to know some information about them. Do they usually hurt? ( Neck region ) How long is recovery time estimated to be? ( I am currently in High School, so the less time the better, so I don't have a whole load of stuff to make up. ) Will this leave a scar? Is there pain after the procedure? Sorry for all the question, I just wanted to get some previous experienced peoples answers, and I am going to go over as much as I can with the doctor. Thanks to all that answer!

The biopsy itself should not hurt very much. The best part is that you'll know for sure what is going on. [or NOT going on]
Here's where you'll find the best info:

The biopsy will not hurt because you will be numbed up prior to them sticking the needle in. The actual biopsy will be over in a few seconds and there is basically no recovery time other than do no go out and play football or basketball or anything else very strenuous. There should be no residual pain to speak of.

The worst part of a lymph node biopsy is thinking about it beforehand and then the waiting for the results to come back. The actual biopsy is a walk in the park - easier than getting a dental cavity filled.

the lymph node biopsy didn't hurt it was frozen as it went in and i went back to work the same day, but when they did the staging biopsy it was pain full because it went into the bone and marrow .I was off work for one day for that one. The Dr said that it was sore for me because I had lymphoma In my bones and marrow which weakened the bone
