Allergy, what could this be?!

Question: So. I have an allergy to something in these foods:: green peppers, carrots, cucumbers canalopes, watermelon. A few more but they arent as bad, like bananas and celery. Also if the veggies are cooked then its not really noticable and i can eat them. My symptoms are really itchy throat, lips and ears. When i was younger i could eat them but when i was about 12 i noticed i was allergic.... (im now 22). So what do these foods have in common? I was told some kind of protein might be the problem...any ideas?

Also, im allergic to ragweed.

Thanks!

not sure if this is even a good answer but --- something called Oral allergy syndrome keeps popping up -- oops sorry wrong page -- wiki had something on it but I keep getting error999 --- stupid computer ---

Oral Allergy Syndrome or OAS is an allergic reaction to certain (usually fresh) fruits, nuts, and vegetables that develops in hay fever sufferers.[1] The immune system mistakes the food proteins for the pollen proteins and causes an allergic reaction. Another term used for this syndrome is "Pollen-Food Allergy." from wiki article webmd probably has a great page

The problem might not be the veg. it might be what they put on it ..chemicals to keep the bugs off. or what they inject into them to keep the veg good longer. you can try washing the veg really good before eating it , taking the skin off before eating it. or try organic veg( they aren't sprayed)make sure it says ORGANIC not everywhere has organic KROGER has a section. or it might be a mold allergy..sometimes veggies has a little mold on them from shipping( hot to cold then cold to hot) good luck allergies are hard to figure out!

Please exclude GM (Genetically Modified) food from your diet. See the result. If allergy subsides it will prove that the GM corn or other GM food that you might be eating for about last 10 years may be the cause.

If you are in USA that might explain as you might be eating a lot GM maize/corn products.

You might not be aware the GM food is not conclusively proved to be safe for anyone by scientists and companies only force this on you.

If the problem seems to be from GM food sources then I would like to quote your case in the federal petitions which requests governments of USA and other countries to stop the GM food rubbish which has killed thousands of sheep in India and has affected health of millions of people worldwide.

probably not the food, but the chemicals on it. Try purchasing organic stuff and washing it well before you eat it. See if you still have the reactions. By the way-LOCAL honey will CURE your ragweed allergy. A teaspoon a day for a month or so and you will not have it anymore. Could also help with your other problem.
