Doctor or no doctor?!

Question: I am fifteen and I have asthma. I have had flu symptoms since friday night. I'm not in the bathroom all day I only have a fever of 101 what should I do? I stayed home from school today, should I just fight it off at home with lots of liquids or go to the doctor?

Last night was the worst out of all the days, I was cold yet had a fever. I was weezing yet not having an asthma attack, sore all over, coughing, sneezing, watery eyes, slight headache, and my body was telling me I was tired yet I didn't want to sleep.

I would reccomend that you go to the doctor. The flu, which is a repiratory disease, can be very dangerous if you have asthma.

I think considering your age and the fact that you have asthma this decision is best left to you and your parents. Feel better!

It sounds like you need to see the doctor so he can give you a checkup and some medication to help you feel better. Because of your asthma it is very important that you take care of yourself and the flu alone can cause you problems with breathing.

I think a trip to the dr would be the best thing, if you have asthma it isn't a good idea to try and wait it out, esp since it is flu season.

Call your pediatrician's office and see what tey say. They know your medical HX better than we do.

check with your Dr. He may want to see you or he may prescribe something over the phone since he knows your medical history. BUt you do need to consult with a Dr.

i agree with at least calling you dr they may need to check your lungs or could prescribe something over the phone. good luck and feel better soon.

sounds like the flu...I have the same symptoms...but since you have asthma....sweetie....talk with your parents.....
you could end up bad fast if not careful~

call your doctor and do as he tells you, he probably wont want to see you for an office visit but thats his/her choice

Call the Dr's office and talk to the nurse, and see if she thinks you need to see the Dr.

Be save make that phone call....you did talk to your parents I'm sure.

the flu with asthma could be very hard to overcome, go to the doctor, recovery will be quicker
