Can advil/motrin really cause blindness?!
Question: Last night my friend stopped me from taking an Advil because she said that it causes blindness and even death. I didn't really believe her because she has been known to lie about that kind of thing, but I didn't take one anyway. Is it true that Advil and motrin have a certain drug in it that can kill you?

I wouldn't be taking your friends advice anymore on medication. Call a pharmacist. I guess any med could cause deathor blindness, however, the main side effects of advil (ibuprofen) are nausea, stomach pain, ulcers, that's why is important to take with food, but I wouldn't worry unless you swallow a couple bottles at a time. cheers.
You should have no major side affects to the drugs unless you abuse them. As long as you take them only when needed and follow the directions you should be safe.
any drug in excess can kill you......if it could cause blindness and death in normal doses then there would be alotta blind and/or dead people due to it....and that woulda probably lead to it being taken off the market.......
