My brain cells are dying?!

Question: I remember hearing somewhere that when you hear a flatlining sound in your head it means that your brain cells are dying. I think it was from the movie Children of Men. Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone else been having headaches as bad as me? :(

I agree that what you're hearing is most likely the very common condition called tinnitus. Brain cells are neurons and neurons don't regenerate. They have a long lifespan, unlike other cells, and brain neurons can live as long as 100 years. If you're having severe headaches, I suggest you see a doctor about it.

That is tinnitus , it means something is wrong with your hearing.

every time u knock or bang youre head u lose 1brain cell but you also generate more each day ..... films are not the gods honest truth but heres hoping in youre case......

The flatlining noise in children of men was from a loud explosion because it damages your ears when you are that close to it.

i never heard of that but i know that neurones die when you have a fever, a hangover or someone hits you bad in the head
and they don't reproduce

You should see a doctor, we are not doctors here in Yahoo.

whoever said brain cells regenerate is lying. that is false once brain cells die, they are gone forever
