What r hangnails...how can i get rid of them?!
Question: hangnails are pieces of dead skin that separate from other skin at most points, but "hangs" on to some. Clip the most of it off with nail clippers, as they can become very painful if snagged. Also, keep your hands moisturized and put a band-aid on it until it goes away (this is of course after you've clipped most of it off).

If you don't know what they are, why do you want to get rid of them?
i havent a clue!
some say they are the skin that peels off in little strips just after your cuticle (down your finger a bit from the nail) and others say they are bits of nail that flake away at the side of the nail?!?!!?!
i never found out!

You need a nice cuticle conditioner. Go to the nearest drugstore to buy one, but try not to get the cheapest one. Use it every night, and a huge difference will be seen.
