Answers: I love begals and sandwiches is there bread out there somewhere that doesn't have wheat?

There are many products on the market that are wheat free - they are called 'gluten-free' and are eaten by patients with Celiac Disease (which is caused by a type of wheat allergy). Gluten-free breads, cereals, cookies, etc. are available at Amazon.com and at the GlutenFreeMall.com.

Best wishes and good luck.

they have wheat free things (gluten free) theres lots. look around, look online u'll find many foods without wheat.

These gluten free products can be expensive, if you have a local health food store you can usually order in bulk and get a better price.

now it's time to learn how to read labels, and how to ask questions. the first question you should ask and learn about is.... are you really allergic to wheat, or are you allergic specifically to gluten? there are two separate diseases here that are semi related, but gets a majority of people confused.

those who are allergic to gluten usually can't eat foods containing wheat, barley, and rye because these three grains contain gluten. those who are allergic specifically to wheat may be able to eat barley, rye, and other grains, but not anything containing wheat, or spelt (spelt is a grain related to wheat)

starches that do not have wheat in it include rice, corn, quinoa, buckwheat (japanese soba noodles), and potatoes. you can buy quality pasta now that is made from rice. corn can also be made into a lot of stuff including bourbon. beer? while you can't drink beer anymore, you can still enjoy wine.

It's fairly hard to have a wheat free diet, so you need to be extra careful and learn how to read labels.

Learn to eat rice.

My cousin had celiacs(sp??)disease. Also known as an allergy to wheat. She has a couple of kids who also have this. She makes her own bread and everything, but I have never, never heard her complain. My point is, if she can do it with 6 kids, you can too! Be positive!

Look up celiac and sprue support groups and/or resources on google.

I used to work at whole foods - lots of people with those things come in....and quite often they had lists of food without wheat in them that they had printed up from the internet

After being allergic I went on the Celiac Diet. This diet is for those who have Celiac Disease. It has helped me considerably. There are great websites that will also help you under the Celiac. You can buy food over the Internet and also there are restaurants that can make food without wheat. They even make a beer without wheat now.

Its not the end of the world, my sister found out when she was in her 40s but we managed to get around it all.
Look for coeliac society near you and see what they have to offer.
What is not everything certain brands do not contain wheat like White wings cornflour ,makes great gravy.
I also have found in various magazine cakes and biscuits so keep your eyes open even at the hairdressers.
In Australia it must be getting really common as most supermarkets now carry all the bread pastas and special flour.
My sister now lives In USA and has had a tough time finding decent type food I'm sure she told me her rice bread comes in from Canada
