What is a good over the counter decongestant one could take for ear fluid noises!

Question: Kate,

A few years back, I got this infection or virus in my inner ear which caused it to fill with fluid and I would hear this humming or low buzzing. It was so annoying and even a bit scary, because it took a month to go away! I wasn't sure if it would ever go away. Among the decongestants, sudafed is a good one, but make sure to get plenty of fluids, take vitamins, etc. to help your body fight off the infection as well.

Hello I suffer from the same thing..constantly. Please be sure to have your Doctor check you to make sure its not infected. You need to take an allergy and decongestant pill. I take the equate version from walmart and it works fine. I do have a prescription but its just allergy, alavert. It works pretty good but I have to have the decongestant too.

Sudafed tablets work (i am going through exactly the same thing now) first ever ear infection at 33 not bad going, but is really getting on my nerves now lol.

Seudafed is what I grew up on.

I used to take Dristan. Now I think the last thing I took was Tylenol multi cold sympton or Tylenol Sinus.
