I am not a physician, but 132 is not that terrible. You will need to get down to your proper weight and of course this is accomplished through diet and exercise. There is more though, you have to prescribe to a diet which is conducive to losing your diabetic symptoms. High Fiber, the right amount of protein, the proper combination of foods at each meal. As you know the rules go on and on. Although I am not sure if it is ever really cured, you may not have to take any meds, but your will surely have to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

You are going to need to lose a significant amount of weight - 19 lbs is a good start. 400 lbs is incredibly dangerous amount of weight to be - it places stress on your heart and other organs.

Good luck

Keep up the good work. Weight loss can certainly go a long way in Type 2 diabetes. It may or may not eliminate it completely but you will be much healthier.

I weighed 140 lb (I am 5'0") and I lost 25 lb. 2 years ago. I was able to reduce my diabetes medication by half.

I feel so much better - more energy etc.

I swim and I walk.

Good luck to you.

Congratulations for the 19 pounds gone! Keep the good work with the changes on your lifestyle. Some doctor have the bad costume to terrifying us but if we continue with the good work I think we can make it. By the way, 132 is not such a big number. I am pretty sure that if you keep the good work, you will have normal sugar levels again.
Good luck!

It is certainly possible (and even likely) that if you are able to loose enough weight that your diabetes will also clear up (at least for now, it may return later), and it will certainly make it easier to manage your blood sugar. Fat secretes substances that contribute to insulin resistance, which is one of the major mechanisms of type 2 diabetes, so the more weight you loose, the better your glycemic control should be.
Don't try to do it all at once though, you're feeling motivated now, but if you start on a diet that you can't keep, you're likely to end up binging and gaining more weight than you lost. The best way to loose weight is a little at a time, but consistently (if you loose 3-5 pounds a month, in a year you'll have lost 36-60 pounds, and in 3-5 years you'll be at an ideal weight).
Get a diet and exercise regimen that you think that you can stick to for the rest of your life that allows you to loose weight, and go with that, it's much better to be slow and steady than to try to loose too fast and end up gaining.

Yes, want to discuss this with me?

You can definitely get rid of type 2 diabetes with the following exercises in your routine.
These pranayam exercises will help control the diabetes and the side effects.Build up the timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume later. The benefits will be noticed in weeks as the sugar level is checked daily.Over the long tern the diabetes will be in full control and the medicine can be reduced in consultation with the doctor.
