Would there theories work??!

Question: I have a theory on how to stop cancer!
We all SHOULD know that cancer is caused by cells dividing to rapidly.

My 2 theories are as follows:

1. attack the cancer with viral RNA (this will therefore disrupt the cell causing complete and total destruction of cell) then let the virus spread and kill all the cancer cells. (use specific medication to stop/ null to sleep the progressing virus) and use either surgery or chemotherapy to eradicate the body from the rest of the surviving cancer cells.

2. Find the mutated RNA stand and then fix the adenine, uracil, cytosine, or guanine in the messed up codon (either making and start codon or making a stop codon) this will therefore help the RNA to go-ahead and make the missing protein or help the RNA stop making this specific protein.

Variations of what you propose (give or take a little) have been used in attempts to treat cancer. Using viruses can be difficult as you can't get 100% infection rates, potentially leaving cancer cells to just re-grow that aren't removable by other means.

Many drugs work by interfering with DNA and RNA. They take advantage of the fact that cancer cells are rapidly growing, and sensitive to drugs affecting DNA synthesis for instance.

You are on the right track, though can't give you credit for novel ideas ;>(. However, I am impressed that as a young high school student you are knowledgeable and thinking about such things. Keep up the good work. You might be on your way to a major breakthrough in the future.

This isn't FAIR!!!

I had come up with this exact same Idea about a month or 2 ago. I even talked with my science teacher about it and she said it was possible.

Oh well, that's what I get for being 14 years old.
I say keep up the good work. It doesn't matter who comes up with it, it's still a cure for cancer...

Anyways, I did do a little research on it, but I couldn't find anything helpful. I can't really help you.

I'm not sure, but I don't think this is far from what they are already trying. Way to go, though. You may be the one who finds the cure. Keep studying hard.
