I need to know how to tell if my adult child has all the pain she says.she has a!

Question: the tumor causes spinal fluid to put pressure on her brain causing extremely bad headaches.they have put a "vp shunt"in her head to redirect the fluid to her stomach.she was also ck'd for ms.she has degenerative disc disease in the lumbar region which has affected her hip.the fluid from her spine has also caused vision issues.these things i know are real but sometimes i think she wants something devasting to be wrong.when she was told she didn't have ms,she acted almost disappointed.same thing about some possible eye surgery that she was told didn't need to be done immediately.she says it's because nobody can put a label on her health issues.she also finds things that cause her to have to go to the doc, which leads to a battery of tests that generally show nothing.her pcp and i have finally got her into thearpy, but to do so, her doc told her it was for some medication changes.i do know she feels this pain, but i don't know truly how much.we constantly go from doc to doc,& test to test.

honestly i dont know how to answer your question, but i wanted to let you know you are not alone. I, too am a mother of a pseudotumor cerebrai patient but with the other extreme. my daughter is 8 and she almost went blind before i even knew anything was wrong with her because she never told me. i noticed when she lost control of her eye movement. now she has lost control of her bladder and is having lower abdominal pain but swears nothing was wrong before today. It is so frustrating to not know. Anyone else out there in the same boat? Sorry to piggy back on your question, hope you dont mind. I was just happy to see someone else out there with similar issues.

Am sorry that you and your daugter have to go through this. I do have MS, and I was relieved when I got the dxn at the same time I was so pissed. Its great that you are still helping her out even with your doudts, that was always the wrost for me that knowone belived me when I said how sleepy I always was or how much pain I was in. I know that the MS test came back negative but that you do fully say that she does have some medicale issues. I would belive her but only to a point, since she goes to doctors often and diffrent ones to boot that is a clear sign of medical attion that is not needed, but taking way your belive to fast or to much could push her over the edge. Talk to alot of doctors before you make any true desicions.
