Best way is to wash your hands at appropriate times. This includes before you eat, and before you touch your eyes, nose or mouth.

The 'stomach virus' is commonly a Norovirus where you get sick for about a day or two. This virus can live on surfaces for some time so just because you didn't shake anyone's hand or touch anyone does not mean that you do not have viral particles on your hands. These virus are transmitted by contact as well, so you have to touch something that is contaminated and then transfer it into your body. This is why handwashing is so important.

On another note, if it is a Norovirus going around your school, they are notoriously resistant to the alcohol hand sanitizers (purell, etc.) so make sure you are washing with soap and water for at least 15 seconds. The alcohol sanitizers may work some in between hand washing as long as you use enough of it to keep your hands wet for about 20-30 seconds while rubbing them together.

Good luck not getting sick.

Just because its going around in your class doesn't mean you will get it. However being young, you could. There is nothing you can do. its a 24 hour thing.

With me I don't get a stomach virus. Every one is different, just hope you have the antibodies. Just take allot of vitamin C, keep up your immune system.
You may not even get it.

nope , though the pest way to stop it from spreading is keep yourself clean. there is no way for you to stop it, so keep real clean and keep away from the ppls who have it pretty much and take vitamin c to boost your immune system or simply eat oranges ^^

no total guarantee you won't catch a virus, but you can help by washing your hands often, not touching other kids hands, and keeping your immune system strong -- get plenty of rest, take vitamins/zinc, eat right, and staying away from the kids who do have it -- they should be staying home, not spreading the crud.
