I wouldn't want to try it to find out, personally. As far as what sort of sleeping pills or antidepressants might be suitable for you, you should really take that up with a doctor first. A lot of the drugs used to treat asthma will interact with a lot of the antidepressants, and it would mean trying to weigh up which was more important to treat and the potential risk in doing it. I wouldn't recommend taking advice on medication choices based on polls here at YA anyway. If you are taking a prescription medication, you can always ask the pharmacist to tell you about potential interactions. But being as an asthma attack can be fatal, I'd say it wasn't worth it to risk it without some doctor's guidance. JMHO, but as a rule, it's more important to breathe than anything else. Mess that up and sleep won't be a problem.

ALL OF THEM

The use of Xanax is contra-indicated in patients who have a history of breathing problems.

Use of alprazolam should be avoided, or carefully monitored by medical professionals, in individuals with the following conditions:[29][30]

* Myasthenia gravis
* Acute narrow-angle glaucoma
* Severe liver deficiencies (e.g., hepatitis and cirrhosis)
* Severe sleep apnea
* Pre-existing respiratory depression
* Marked neuromuscular respiratory weakness including unstable myasthenia gravis
* Acute pulmonary insufficiency
* Chronic psychosis
* Hypersensitivity or allergy to alprazolam or other drugs in the benzodiazepine class
* Borderline personality disorder (may induce suicidality and dyscontrol),[31] however correlation does not imply causation, as these behaviors are seen in unmedicated BPD patients.
