So icky!! I have pinworms...?!

Question: I got my medicine today for it. I don't have kids, but 2 dogs. I keep a clean house, and this is just one of those things.
What all needs to be cleaned?
Obviously sheets and clothes, but do I need to totally freak and shampoo my carpets and stuff? Any advice is appreciated. My pharmacist was brisk, and don't really want to ask my friends, you know...
And hold your jokes, if it can happen to me, it can happen to you ;p
Thank you!!

It's completely normal and extrmemly common....just no one likes to admitt it or talk about it! You almost for sure got it from one of your friends or someone close like that! It's absolutley not from poor hygeine or anything like that. Just take the medicine...don't scratch anymore...and wash your bedsheets/blankets/pillowcases in the hottest water your machine offers. They will most likely not come back but I would take another full dose of the medicine in two weeks which is when the cycle WOULD start again if at all. Again...NOTHING to do with your cleanliness or your home's!!

Pinworms are the most common worm infection in the United States, primarily affecting school-age children. Pinworm eggs are spread directly from person to person or by touching bedding, food, or other items contaminated with the eggs.

Typically, children are infected by unknowingly touching pinworm eggs and putting their fingers in their mouths. The eggs are swallowed, and eventually hatch in the small intestine. The worms mature in the colon. Female worms then move to the child's anal area, especially at night, and deposit more eggs. This may cause intense itching and the area may even become infected. When the child scratches the itching anal area, the eggs can get under the child's fingernails and be transferred to other children, family members, and items in the house.
