dont worry about it! just wait till the summer when all us smokers take over every pub garden in England and drive all the non smokers out!!!
I do agree, same for restaurants, or at least, well-divided areas
how would you feel if someone made you breath in exhaust fumes from there car, you wouldnt like just as non smokers dont want to breath in your crap from your cigs
i don't think that would work as smokers and non-smokers would like to drink in the same pubs and they would lose custom eitherway. As a non smoker i'm happy that i can go into a pub without choking on smoke and stinking of cigarettes, also its nice to go to restaurants where people don't light up a cigarette when your trying to enjoy a meal.

stupid rule to be honest- i just look at the old films etc and see em all smokin in the bars etc - nowadays ya not aloud

Yeah !!! it would be nice. However, the legislation has its roots in public health and this means the staff too. It is unlikely to change.
I get cold too but it gives me a nice buzz from the beer.

i agree totally. instead of banning smoking in places, they should have opened new places for non smokers. its very wrong. its wrong that smokers are obviously discriminated against.

well my dear i suggest you join us non smokers then you dont need to go outside,with every penny spent on ciggies put it into a jar and go and have a life with a lovely holiday its a mugs game smoking your life away.
I agree. Pubs should have been given a choice whether to licence as a smoking or non smoking pub instead of being forced to go non smoking. Landlords know their customers and if the majority are smokers they should be able to cater for them and vise-versa for non smokers. People can make informed decisions if they are totally against smoking or passive smoking then there would be plenty of venues for them to choose from without having to visit a pub that allows smoking. As for friends wanting to go to the same pubs, any friend who smokes should respect your wishes and visit a non smoking pub with you.
A lot of pubs have lost business especially during the winter months due this ban. Although a lot have made some great outdoor smoking areas with lights and heaters.

The pubs should be either or with a sign on the door, our local used to have a sign reading.
"This is a smokers pub if you don't like it don't come in"
I don't smoke but prefered it, now all the mates go outside while I'm sat on my tod. Thats when they decide they wouldn't rather stop at home.
Many pubs have died of death now ready for the takeover from the Weatherspoon, lloyds or RSVP scum. Before the ban all these people who said they'd start going in pubs after the ban, what happened to them?????????
Our local club allows smoking, it takes deposits from every smoker so if they're caught the deposits pay the fine. Suck on that Gordon Brown
I do agree, of course! it had been for centuries that smokers and non-smokers lived next to each other and nobody really bothered about it. And now they are making sort of lesser species from smokers forcing them to go out for a ***, while the healthier or "better" non-smokers can sit inside! I mean, we are all human beings, don't we?
Besides, is it really better to have completely drunk person in the pub, who is not able to stand on his own, and who doesn't smoke, instead of nice mannered smoker? I think that drinking is far worse habit!
The smoking law is just about taking away our freedoms. I know in my town the lady that pushed the no smoking in illinois was kicked out of all the bars because hello thats what you go to a bar for is to drink and smoke...I hate smoking outside if i want to smoke i should be able to smoke wherever i want. besides if they arent going to let me smoke in public then quit taxing my damn cigarettes
I agree with you, we should have separate pubs, restaurants for smokers and non smokers. I am sick of listening to these moaning minnie`s. We have had our freedom of choice taken away from us with no say in the matter at all (especially as they still smoke in Parliament). Where as, if there was separate ones, non-smokers would have the choice to go into that pub or not. A lot of our friends are non-smokers and they don`t mind being in our company and they agree with us on the matter.
