My cat has it, we're putting her down this week. Her fur started to fall out last year and then her skin started turning black and sort of flake away. The vet says the only action we can take that will be the most humane is euthanasia. .

Did you acquire it from an injury, trauma or hospitalization? Although not common, it is a form of strep or staph in some cases that can be treated if caught soon enough and is very fatal if not.

I believe once you get it it is very common to have subsequent episodes. It would be best to be seen by an Infectious Control doctor on a regular basis.
