For an ear infection heat olive oil and garlic in a pan, then put it in your kids ear. It actually works it kills all the bacteria and is not harmfull for the ear.

Mustard poltice on cheesecloth placed on the chest is supposed to clear nasal and chest congestion. Don't ask me how to make a mustard poltice, though.

well, a lady I used to work with made me a Hot Tottie (dont know how to spell it) when I had a bad head cold, said it was an old home remedy for it. Had whiskey, lemon juice, honey, dont even know what else. Helped clear me up a bit and slept pretty good too!
