What gift do I give?!

Question: My husband and I have been through a great deal of hurdles lately. The last one almost killed us, literally. He is recovering from cancer. He has completed his chemo portion of the treatment and will soon start the radiation, which is basically a reassurance they killed it all. (The last pt-scan was negative.)

As his wife, I want either give something to him or do something for him to show how proud I am of him and how thankful I am he is still with us. It really touches me how strong he is and how much we have grown over this past year.

I would like to present this to him when the doctor releases him on remission. Any suggestions on what that special gift could be.....????

First of all let me say that I know first hand what the two of you have just been through. I am a Hospice nurse and I see the other side of things in the fight against cancer.. This certainly is something to be proud of. You have fought against incredible odds. But one thing that I want you to remember is that your husband was not the only one that fought this battle. Sounds like you have been through every bit of it with him. The both of you deserve to give a gift to each other........ a gift that will keep on giving. Not gold or silver, or something to sit on a shelf. I suggest a donation in celebration, in your husbands name to a cancer research center, St Jude's hospital or something of this nature. You both know what you've just been through, Please think about preventing someone else from going through the same thing. I'll bet that your husband will cherish this gift forever. I'm so happy for the both of you.

you could give him a bible

flower or ferfume,etc.

Lap dance. Thats what I got for a gift from my wife. She gave the stiper a nice tip to.

GIve him the Badge of courage even though tehy dont havem anymore cus war world *** is over.

my guess is when he is relased he will probably be tired from all the treatment....so you could maybe (depending on what kind of money you have) plan a special weekend for the two of you so you can celebrate together....

Pictures of the journey together through this years. A poem ( I know there are pros who will write it for a marginal cost).

I would prefer latter as it gets a touch more personal

You should take him out to his favorite place to eat and spend the night out somewhere fun.

Something personal between the two of you. Something that shows his strength and the hurdles he has overcome. It could be about the 2 of you, or just him. Either way, something from the heart is always best.

Good Luck

Give him an engraved watch.

Now, you have given him the gift of time as he has given you...(you have the rest of your lives together)

Awwww..........I'm sorry, but I really don't have any ideas. I just wanted to wish you guys the best of luck! I'm glad to hear that he is recovering. How scary that must have been for both of you!

You could always get a tattoo with his name, a heart and the words strength and courage(or something like that). That way people will ask you about it and you will get to tell everyone how strong and wonderful he is. Just make sure you get exactly what you want--then have fun showing the world. Congratulations!!

Give him some relaxation time and prepare a special weekend...
like lounge on the beach or at a lake...
prepare a romantic dinner for two
rent his favorite movies
pick a favorite hobby or pastime of his and do it with him...even if it is not something you like, this will certainly show him how much you care about him...and that you just like spending time with him

You could check out the website - http://www.ExpressionPrints.com - it allows you to upload a photo of your own or use one from their gallery. Then you can add text such as a personal message or love poem on top of the image and it even allows you to apply effects to the photo. Nice site to create a really personalized photo gift for someone special in your life. You could write a simple message of how proud that you are of him on top of the image.
