My mom's biopsy report- what exactly does this say?!
Question: my mom got this today. she is yet to discuss it with her doctor, so the entire family is left hanging in mid-air 'til then. it is making me anxious and i would like to have a professional's opinion as to what it says and what possible steps might be taken later.
CLINICAL IMPRESSION - BREAST MASS, LEFT R/O CA
DIAGNOSIS:
INVASIVE DUCTAL CARCINOMA, WELL DIFFERENTIATED TYPE, WITH COMPONENT OF DUCTAL CARCINOMA-IN-SITU OF COMEDOCARCINOMA TYPE
FIBROADENOMA AND FIBROCYSTIC CHANGES OF THE BREAST WITH FOCAL SCLEROSIING ADENOSIS, MODERATE TO FLORID DUCTAL HYPERPLASIA AND ATYPICAL DUCTAL HYPERPLASIA
i know "R/O CA" means "rule out cancer", but then "INVASIVE DUCTAL CARCINOMA" means otherwise. i am not sure about all the other medical terms up there. someone, anyone please help me understand. thanks.
