Would taken a decongestant cough suppressant interfer with taking Metformin?!
Question: By the way, the cough medicine is over the counter. My fiance has this terrible cough, we think maybe post-nasal drip so were gonna get some cough meds to see if that helps before going to the doctor. His hacking dry cough has been going on for a few days. Thanks for info .

If he is on metformin for diabetes, then some cough syrups contain sugar & can change blood sugars. Call a 24hr pharmacy, like Walgreen's to see if there are other effects of taking both.

Not too much interferes with Metformin. I recommend cough drops and breathing steam. A nice cup of lemon tea or something and take deep breaths of it.
watch the cough meds as they may have a lot more sugar in them than you want.
but then again!!! Diabetics should be very conscious of INFECTIONS of any kind. Take it to the doctor before it becomes really nasty.
even a simple hang nail can cost a finger!!
