Can diseases transfer from used clothing?!

Question: Ok it's a weird question... But i sometimes wear vintage clothing which is obviously previously owned, and i hand wash it all, but my mom says there's a 'ton of diseases' on them.
Is it true? Can diseases really live on clothing?
I think not diseases.... but i'm not 100% sure, what about some skin conditions? What do you think?

I don't think you need to worry about diseases, but I would worry plenty about parasites, like scabies. Those buggers can live forever, and they jump from clothing item to clothing item, so even if you're wearing a 50-year-old shirt or whatever you are not safe. (Although the same can be said for brand new clothing at any store--you have no idea if it's been exposed to parasites courtesy of the manufacturer, somebody who tried it on, or just the fact that it was on the rack NEXT to something that was infested.) Having said that, the truth is that it's much more likely you'd get scabies or some other parasite from a health club or a tanning salon--anyplace that's hot, damp, and frequented by many people.

Skin conditions ... maybe... don't worry so much.... am sure you will be fine....

Well if you're buying the clothes from like...Savers or something like that, they're supposed to wash the clothes first. But if you feel uncomfortable then you should wash them yourself too to make sure bacteria from previous owners is gone.

If you wash it and soak it in detergents and water for 1 hour, then you are safe to wear it.

Hey,
There are lot of skin diseases through clothes even when you wash it.
If your skin is not so sensitive then i think it should not be a problem.
If you know the owned person its well and gud. otherwise try to avoid.
