Does anyone know what can help fibromyalgia?!

Question: I've had fibromyalgia for 13 years. I suggest you find a good rheumatologist so you can get some care. There is a new drug out called Lyrica that helps some patients - I just started on it and it hasn't really helped.

Diet is huge for fibro suffers, so is exercise. Type in fibromyalgia at either google or yahoo search and look for resources. I subscribe to Arthritis Today - it's a great magazine to read about new treatments. Also, go to your local library and read up a bit on it - the more information you have, the better chance you'll have at successfully dealing with it.

Different things work for different people, so try everything!

I've been told by a few people that suffered from fibromyalgia that Coenzyme Q-10 really helps.

I have a massage therapist friend who practices Reike on her clients who have fibromyalgia. Most of the people who come to her have exhausted all other avenues of treatment, but they do find relief with Reike therapy, acupuncture, reflexology, or other alternative healing methods.

cyclosporin may help

I've been told fresh pineapple and magnesium rich (e.g. banana) foods help.

Drink plenty of water. Dehydration increases pain sensitivity.

If convention medicine hasn't helped, check out the naturopath (that visits your local Health food store and gives a free brief consultation). Read up a lot so you can choose a treatment that best suits your situation. Get well soon.
