What's the best way to clear out congestion without drying out the sinuses?!

Question: I'm pregnant (37 weeks), I'm juuust starting to feel slightly better from strep throat after being on Augmentin for 2 1/2 days. The problem is now my head is all congested. I don't have a humidifier and while the Vicks clears me up for a few minutes, it almost always leaves me painfully dry.
I no longer have a fever, but I still have strong coughing, a slightly sore throat and like I said, all of that congestion. Is there anything I can do?

i just went through this. get some saline spray for your nose, and use vaseline or aquaphor around the edges of your nose... do it now before your nose breaks out in a major nose bleed and freaks you out ! mine did and it was flowing and i called the nurse immediately=-) she said that the blowing just dried out my nose and to do what I told you. also try to barely blow your nose very hard if you can.

irrigate your nose.

I find the best way of getting rid of head stuffin (lol) is using some form of steam (either from a shower or boiling water etc.) and rubbing your face around the sinus areas. It also helps to get enough sleep and get enough fluids.
