Can a urine test detect herpes?!
Question: No it can only be detected by a blood test or a swab of the infected area by a doctor. Although with a blood test, it can only tell you if you have the virus (whether it be herpes as in a coldsore or genital herpes) so it is best to have a swab to find out exactly.

blood tests i guess can show herpes, but when my partner went in to get tested, they told him the only method was to get a culture sample, therefore he couldnt get tested for it..
I guess a blood test for herpes isnt always 100% accurate.
Nope, just a blood test for antibiodies or swab of actual pustule fluid for the infection. There is no urine test that I am aware of (?). If in doubt go to health clinic or MD and get tested....remember...always use Condoms! Good Luck :O)
