Home remedies for opening up my head?!
Question: I had cold/flu. I keep thinking I am near the end. The coughing has lessened and I am mainly stuck with my head just totally clogged up feeling. Mucus in my nose and I can hardly hear, like my ears are almost closed. It's not as bad as yesterday, but any home remedies for opening up my head? I wondered if I sat over a hot sink of water and breathed in the steam if that would help? I have been sick like 2 weeks and even took a Z-pak and just want to get completely better!

Sometimes a family Dr. can prescribe something for secondary or sinus infections, Or you may need to see an ear nose and throat Dr.I have seen people put a towel over their heads (make a small tent) and put their heads over boiling water. I use a saline solution. You can make your own by just putting some table salt in water and if you have no other way just get a hand full and stick your nose in it and suck a small amount up your nose. Some times I will put a spoon of horse radish in my mouth and remove it immediately. It will burn, but it will give you some temporary relief. I don't have sinus problems much bey I keep saline around to spray up my nose, If I am bothered in the least. God bless.
The netti pot is a miracle --- if you can tolerate it - use sinu-cleanse in the water - fantastic, wish I had known about it earlier.
I do not know of any home remedies, but I will warn you: sounds like you have a serious sinus infection and you must go to a doctor for antibiotics. It will not pass by itself and it could really get complicated. I am not an advocate for instand antibiotic abuse, but in this case one is needed. I myself was so sick with this I thought I will die. The doctor told me that it is good that I came in - i was on the verge of complications. Now my GF is going through the same thing. There is a lot of sinus infections going around this year for whatever reason, be good to yourself - go to the doctor.
