What is going on??!


Question: I have had a virus for 4 days now. Went to ER and they said it was a virus. Was throwing up, stomach cramps and watery diarrea, low grade fever. Now everything is better but the diarreha, I still have that and a low grade fever. Any one else had this last for this long.

hate to tell ya but yeah!!! me and my kids got it Saturday night and i dont think we got over it completely until yesterday gosh it was horrible i wouldn't wish it on noone i had achy legs about my 2ND day into it and i had a headache Saturday on up until yesterday after noon . im in va and we have it bad here. hope you feel better

i think gasro i think thats what it sounds like,, if it is try drinking small sips of water

These intestinal infections are unpredictable and it is not unusual for it to last 5 - 10 days. The problem you need to think about is keeping yourself hydrated with frequent but smallish drinks, any drinks, (except alcohol) so that you drink at least 4 pints a day. Getting dehydrated by passing so much diarrhoea makes you feel yukky.

Hi, it sounds like you may have Norovirus. Norovirus is a stomach virus that has to run it's course. It may take a while for the diarrhea to stop, because your body is still "shedding" the virus. This means the virus is not completely gone, but gone enough to make you feel better. If the diarrhea does not stop within the next 72 hours you should be going to revisit your physician.
