Small red spots in mouth, any idea?!

Question: Hey, I must admit I'm a bit of a germaphobe (and a klutz, lol, the combo doesn't work well), I was at training for work and I was using a public computer with a really grungy keyboard. At lunch I had a bag of chips, and I forgot to wash my hands, and I licked my fingers, it wasn't until I was back at training that I realized that I hadn't washed my hands. Now I have these little red spots on my inner lip, about 3 in total, all near each other, on the bottom lip. This is the day after the incident, and I noticed that my lips were chapped already last night.

What could it be? My mom suggests that it is a cold sore or a canker sore, the weather has been changing here (being really cold, then warmer) and I do get dry skin when that happens.

I suppose what I want to know is, is there any possibility that I could get something really horrible from the act of using a grungy public keyboard and then licking my fingers at lunch?

Thanks for the help!

you should have enough natural antibodies to ward off anything that would be on keyboard. it is most likely from the chips. Chips are crunchy and salty, so when you masticate them they break up into little sharper chips that some times damage the insides of our mouths and the salt just further irritates the damage. our mouths are full of bacteria, much worse than a virus that could be on that keyboard, your open wounds from the chips are infected a little but its no big deal, you be fine in a few days.

maybe an STD

If it's in your mouth and really hurts it's probably a canker sore.

No, it sounds like canker sores.

ok there are red spots in ur mouth ok o wait this is a really rare illness u are slowly but surely dieing this is very bad but ur in luck u can shove a knive in ur mouth or get a doc

You might pick up something from a grungy keyboard, but the red dots are probably bleeding just under the skin from dry, irritated lips. So, wash your hands and apply a lip balm.

I do agree with fisher and formerl, but if it were me, I'd definitley use a mouth rinse such as listerine or even good old salt water. If it doesn't clear up in say a few days, go to the doc and see what they say. Atleast this wil teach you to wash your hands before and after eating.......
