Deep breath, 7 quick sips of water, swallow between each sip and NO breathing. If you don't breathe between the sips it's a guarantee!

while I don't believe anyone should ever put a bag over their head, I do believe they use CO2 as a medical gas to get rid of hiccups. This is done in a controlled hospital environment however. Try breathing into a PAPER bag for awhile. This will cause CO2 buildup, and perhaps it might help. If not, you really should go to the docter and have them evaluate you. After awhile, hiccups can cause muscle pain and other side effects.
