Dose anyone get allergies to dust ?!

Question: Ok I keep getting allergies and do not know what is causing them, but I think it may be dust as I have been going up my sisters house for the last few days and there is work being done inside the house and it is very dusty up there.
I keep thinking its food allergies but I have not eaten anything new this month.
So dose anyone get allergies to dust or dust mite and can you give a detailed list of the syptoms it causes you.
Any advice on how you deal with it would be welcome to.

You almost certainly have a dust allergiess or dust mite allergie. I do. And i get itchy eyes and my noes is itchy and runny. I also sneeze alot. Try taking some benadrill (spelling?) before you go to her house. That workes for me. I have dust mite, dust, peanut, treenut, trees, grass, pollen, and any animal that has fur!

Hope this helped
SPARKLE AND SHINE!!!!!!!

Absolutely. Dust is one of the most common allergens. It could also be many other things. Your best bet would be to go to your doctor and ask to have some allergy tests done. They are pretty much painless and once you identify whatever it is that you are allergic to, you will be able to avoid it.

your best bet it to take allergy or something on that order , i take it cause i have allergies to different types of things , dust being one of them . it works really good and you only need to take it once a day everyday .

i have dust allergies and i get cold-like symptoms. i get all stuffy and sneezy and i develop a cough. i can't live in a place with any carpet and i have to keep it sparkling clean if i want to stay healthy.

Absolutely. Go see an allergy doctor. they will inject little allergens into your arm and the ones that raise up and itch you're allergic to. they usually do it on a scale of 1-4 and when i had mine for dust it was a 5. i had to get painless allergy shots for a couple years and stay on allegra for a few years beyond that but now i'm fine and i don't have any allergy problems. i actually have a dog in my house which was another one of my allergies. my advice go to the allergist...you will be thankful when the shots start kicking in!

Yes that is a common allergy. Symptoms can very greatly. from headaches, stuffy nose, throat drainage( you have to constantly cough and clear your throat) sneezing, sinus pressure, eyes hurting, itchy eyes, watery eyes. Any of these can affect you. I'm allergic to several foods, dusts, and grasses. but its not a severe allergy, more of an annoyance. I typically get a headache and have to clear my throat a lot.

Yes you could be allergic to the house dust mite, symptoms include snezzing, runny itchy eyes, and a runny nose, It is a very common allergie you can go to the chemist and get over the counter medicine, info available for dustmite allergies talk to your chemist, or research on the net. You could wear a dust mask to help cut down on the amount of dust you breath in, also I find hayfever tablets help but it doe's sound like you may be allergic to the dust mite and it is not a nice one to have as it affects you every time you try and do the housework

There is a good chacne that it is dust that is bothering you. You need to go to your doctor they can test you to be sure and there are medications that can help control your allergy to it. Some over the counter meds are good too, such as zyrtec or claritin

I am allergic to dust, and I react to it the worst when I am cleaning or in a dusty house so you're most likely experiencing an allergic reaction. My symptoms are sneezing, watery eyes, and I get extemely congested for a couple of days. I can literally feel something in my lungs that makes me want to cough all the time. Compared to others, a dust allergie is relatively harmless so I wouldn't go see an allergist unless you absolutely have to. I don't know if anyone else who's answered has actually experienced this test, but I have twice and it's terrible. They poke a hundred holes in either your back or your arm and it itches and burns terribly but you can't touch it or you start all over again. And then you're left with these hundred little holes for a few days until they heal. Trust me, it's no fun so only do it if you're absolutely miserable.
In the mean time, if you're cleaning or in an extremely dusty house, wear a face mask. Slight exposure to dust will only make you sneeze so don't sweat it.

As for the mattress, it may be a good idea to buy a new one but it's okay to take the plastic off. As long as you change the sheets regularly you'll be fine. But you may want to buy an air purifier too that has the ionizing thing to it, ion's are still particles that fall to the floor so there's less dust floating around in the air.
