Is they any reason my head hair itch's quite alot?(if i don't have lice.!

Question: is they any reason my head can suddenly start itching alot?(most often it's when i get warm but sometimes i can be cool or even freezeing and start itching.)

it happens on other places aswell occasernally but most often it's the head.

would going bald help? cause i wouldn't mind having an actual reason for me to be bald more often then i currently am.

I am not trying to scare you...but have you had your thyroid checked? My mom head was itching constantly, along with other symptoms & she went for blood work and found out that she has underactive thyroidism...she will have to take a tiny pill for the rest of her life to keep it balanced & as long as she does that she will be fine. The doctor said your thyroid controls about everything and she said an itching head was a symptom...but if you don't have any other symptoms I would go with what most others say...dry scalp? Good luck.

Stress can make your head itch.

It could just be from the cold, dry winter air. There is a product just for itchy heads - it is called Scalpicin and I believe you can find it alongside the shampoos. This will stop the itching. Start running a humidifier in the bedroom where you sleep, this will help with the dry air situation.

dry sclap. use hot oil treatments.

if you use gell or moose in your hair that could be it.Or it could be the shampoo you might use.

You might also have a dry scalp, dandruff. There is shampoos and hair products that can help (not total get rid of it). I would recommend seeing a dermatologist. They can definitely help you with that.

You want to know if going bald will help, not if you have a dry scalp.

It could be dry scalp from the weather if its dry. Try washing your hair with a scalp treatment shampoo like Nioxon.

you could have a dry scalp. moisturize it and the itching will stop. don't forget to wash your hair daily.

Your scalp could be dry and that would cause the itching.
Try and find a good leave in conditioner it should help.

stress can cause this...shingles....look it up on the net

If you have dry skin it will itch really bad try lotion and some shampoo that is made to help try scalps

I can't really answer this question because you haven't given enough info. Have you looked at your scalp to see if there are white tiny egges on the roots of you hair. Have you physically seen things jumping. Do you have animals? Have you inspected them for flease. Are you what other places are you scratching? These are things that I need to know before I can answer, but besides that I would really have to take a look at the areas to actaully see what's heppening. Try to have somone look to see if there are lice egges. The only thing did you say that you are bald most the time? A lice egg can only live on a inch of hair or more. Is anyone itching? These are thing I really nned to know. I'm sorry, but I can't help you.

It could be a number of things. Winter dry skin, dandruff, eczema, or even a scalp infection. There are plenty of home remedies as well as over-the-counter products (Such as Head and Shoulders) to relieve the itching.

Itching your scalp also leaves tears in the skin, which can cause more itchiness. Try not scratching too much, rather rub or massage your scalp to prevent further damaging your skin.
