It was called Scarlet Fever and also it could turn into St. Vitus Dance (Sydnhams Chorea). My niece got it last year and it is a very scary neurological virus! She was very sick and had to be put on steroids. Make sure to always see a doctor for strep throat.

a cold.

Scarlet fever

not! scarlet fever. And we just started surviving infections.

It could turn into scarlet or rheumatic fever, and people died from those. People generally survived strep by using natural remedies and just plain being a lot healthier in the first place.

Strep throat can turn into scarlet fever, usually in children. I had the first stage of scarlet fever when I was a child, scarletina. It was uncommon for adults to get scarlet fever.
