Low blood pressure?!

Question: I had my blood pressure checked and it's about sixty-five, which I heard is low.

What does this mean?

Assuming this was your bottom number, it is OK.

that is not bad nothing to worry about if that is your lower one

im a doc and u r telling the right details t get ther ight answers eg age , sex , . so i explain suppose if u r female and 20 years old then the normal blood pressure is 80-120mmhg . As u have 65 i might be just normal if u r 20 and female but if u feel dizzy , eat an egg and u'll be okay .

There are two numbers to any standard blood pressure reading, a systolic which is the peak pressure when the heart pumps and the diastolic which is the pressure it falls to each time the heart relaxes. This is normally expressed as systolic/diastolic ie 120/60.

The normal resting systolic blood pressure in an adult ranges from 90 to 135 (guidelines are forever changing) whereas the diastolic ranges from 55 to 85.

I assume you are quoting the diastolic pressure of 65 which is fine. If you were quoting a systolic of 65 you would be feeling extremely faint.

65 being the bottom number is good..
