Does Tetracycline work for acne after you stop using it?!
Question: I have been taking 250mg of tetracyline twice a day for acne. So far it is working very well but my question is what happens when you are finished using the doses? My prescription runs out in march - am I acne free for life or does it come back once your done?

It's a control, like most anti-biotics. If your not using it, it's not going to work.
Once you get into that mature stage where your body will take care of the acne associated with maturing into an adult, you will be O.K.

It will come back unless you already by that time have outgrown acne. I don't want to disappoint you but chances are the acne will come back as bad or maybe worse. The whole point of antibiotics is to hold you out till you outgrow acne. It doesn't get to the root of the problem by eliminating it. If you want to continue having clear skin, you have to take them infinetely.
