Does anyone know about swelling/lumps under armpit?!

Question: I have noticed a lump under the arm,i'm not sure if it is a swollen lymph gland or just a lump? Sometimes it goes down and other times it is quite swollen,it feels like a vein under the arm is also swollen? Does anybody know what this can be?

Tumors do not reduce in size on their own, so if that is your concern breathe safe.

However, this can be a clogged sweat gland, your lymph gland, or even a boil. The first and last can get infected and turn into an abscess that can eventually poison your blood (sometimes fatally), so you really do want to see a doctor. Don't run to the ER now, but make it a priority this month!

It sounds like a lymph gland. If it keeps coming back then maybe you should see your doctor.

i had a small lump under my arm just before xmas but it turned out to be nothing and was gone in 2 weeks. i did go to the doctor and i suggest you do too. it may well just be a blocked gland or cyst but every lump that appears should be checked out right away.

not sure but my friend had this and turned out it was a reaction to an injection she had .

see a doctor could be a number of things

Quite possibly gland but as I always say with medical questions best to visit your GP to be sure.

Probably nothing to worry about but, I would get it checked out, my mum had similar and it turned out to be breast cancer, shes ok now after an op though.

i am currently on antibiotics because a had a swelling/lump under my arm. the doctor told me if was caused by an infection of the sweat glands. maybe that's what you have as it sounds similar. just go to the docs and get some antibiotics. xx

friend this is a dreaded boil. Sometimes it takes surgery to get rid of this pesky nuisance. Other times hot water on a rag will help. once you've neutralized the boil, you're gonna want to try s more mild deodorant. I'm speaking from first hand. My problem is that I would pull hairs out while applying my deodorant which would allow particles of the deodorant to actually infiltrate your skin causing the boil.

Sounds very much like a lymph gland, these can come up sometimes when they get blocked. Very unlikely to be anything to do with breast cancer as cancerous lumps don't come and go as you've described.

Probably worth a visit to your doctor just to get it checked as the swellings could get larger and become uncomfortable. I had similar once and it was a lymph gland - cleared itself after a few weeks.

Without question a swollen lymph gland.

Have you had a recent illness?
It is your immune system producing Antibodies to a new infection.
Has someone close to you had a recent illness?
If so it is again your immune system producing Antibodies to an infection.

However if you feel well, have not had a recent illness or have not been in close contact with anyone who has had a recent illness. I would advise monitoring for a week or so and if no improvment ensure that you get an appointment with your Doctor as soon as possible just to be on the safe side.

Do you have any other swollen glands, such as your neck, groin, back of head?

You have a chain of lymph nodes under your jaw, under your chin, in your armpit, and more... I suggest having it evaluated when it is swollen, though it probably isn't a big problem unless the area becomes red, hot, and very swollen (indicating it may be an abcess- infection- rather than a lymph node)

my cousin have the same prob as yours. we also don't know about it.
