Answers: Also, does it work for kids?

ive not heard of this would be interested as my daughter is suffering really badly with it at the moment. shes 24 and had it since age 12 its extremely bad at moment and shes facing her second surgery in 18 months.

hi, i am a crohn's survivor. Most GI's will prescribe pain meds such as Demerol, tylenol 3, percocet, etc. for pain mgt. Marijuana isn't given to children that I know of. They have newer medications to get things under control.

I am on percocet for pain, bentyl for stomach spasms, flexeril for back spasms, and if I have a blockage I go to the ER and request Dilaudid "my happy juice" until it passes.

If you go to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America's site, you can find tons of information including the newest treatments such as Remicade, Humira, 6MP, Imuran, and Entocort. They have a live chat & hotline that is run by healthcare professionals M-F 9 am - 5 pm (EST). give them a call or chat & see what they say. In most states, it's illegal to use marijuana unless you are an inpatient in a hospital.

Crohn's is a pain in the butt. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. Work with your GI to get a game plan to get your CD under control and something for pain. If it gets to the point where you are on the floor curled up, head to the ER, have them call your GI, and request IV pain medication.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions. I've been to the ER many times & hooked up to Dilaudid to put me out of my misery.
