It's basically like a mole except it just hangs off your skin, and is the same colour as your skin. They are simply genetic. They can removed by the doctor slicing it off then burning the area where it was so another won't grow back in it's place..

Skin tags are small pieces if excess skin usually nothing to worry about. But my son had one removed because his doc said they could grow up to five inches long. So I would have it removed it doesn't hurt at all.

I have been told that they are little pockets of skin and can grow anywhere they feel like, particularly in the warm spots. I recently had 8 small ones removed from my neck and my Doctor freezes them off. Yes it is a bit painful and uncomfortable aftferwards but well worth it.

I think some people say it could be a sign of possible pre-diabetes or blood sugar imbalance. Someone on YA told me it is a sign of aluminum poisoning (from aluminum pans, baking powder with aluminum, aluminum deodorants, etc). I don't know about any sources to that information. She seemed to know what she was talking about.

You can get them removed at a dermatologist office, or some people claim you can tie a tight string around them at their base, to cut off their blood supply and then they will eventually fall off. I tried that once and I could get the string to stay on. So I did what someone else on YA suggested and used a nail clipper to clip one off under my arm. It bled a little, but not much and didn't hurt much either.

Overgrowth of dermal layers, perhaps in response to microscopic particles found in things like mineral oil, and with fragrance added, baby oil. Also listed as an ingredient on some lotions and skin products.

It is my understanding, that the skin is re-acting on your behalf, by reinforcing the area against penetration of material that is not authorized entrance through the skin. And, perhaps it is irritated also, like a grain of sand in an oyster becomes a pearl.

Maybe you should thank them with olive oil, garlic, and lemon juice. The olive oil should nourish your skin, and let it know it is being cared for. It will also provide a barrier and act as a carrier, for the garlic oil, which may draw out the particle (that being the nature of root vegetables--right?), and the lemon juice to cut the smell of garlic, and enhance it's healing properties and provide an "acid shield: for healing.

Perhaps just eating oysters seasoned this way would be beneficial.

Great Luck!
