Anyone experienced watermelon allergies?!
Question: This is my 2nd experience i've had after i ate some watermelon which was really tastey too :) I keep getting these side effects like excessive coughing, headaches, dizzyness, sore throat, sweating at night at times. Last time i had this it lasted me 2 months. Very inconvenient with my daily schedule at school and work. It's ironic cause my job is at a fruit produce where all the goodness is staring at me, teasing me. hehe :( Anyone knows any solution or the reason this happens to me?

You could be having an allergic reaction to the watermelon, esp if the symptoms occur after eating it. The interesting thing about watermelon and cantaloupe allergies ( itchy mouth after eating the melon) is that it's often related to ragweed allergies. They polenate at the same time and the ragweed cross contaminates the melon. So if you have a ragweed allergy, often times your mouth will itch when you eat melon. I am not sure about this time of year, though and where the melon was grown. This is true for fruit grown in America in the summertime. Something you can do if your only symptom is itchy mouth is to swish your mouth with Benadryl and then spit it out. You don't need to swallow it because swishing should be enough to stop the local reaction.
