Whoa! Honey, that blood pressure is way too high for anyone at any age. Normal blood pressure is below 120/80 mmHg.

There are a number of causes:

1) smoking - nicotine causes the release of epinephrine in the brain that triggers the constriction of blood vessels, which in turn causes palpitations and rise in blood pressure;

2) Excessive weight, which is associated to build-up of visceral fat;

3) High fat diet - plaque build-up in the arteries that narrows the passageway of blood in the arteries;

4) High salt diet - causes blood to be viscous or kind of denser or syrup like, slowing down circulation.

This is definitely dangerous. It will cause cardiomegaly or enlargement of the heart from overwork, pumping frantically for blood to adequately circulate and bring the much needed oxygen and nutrients.

The only way to go is lifestyle modification. Things to do:

1) Smoking cessation
2) High fiber diet, lots of fruits and veggies. Cut back on fat intake and salty foods
3) Regular exercise: Walk briskly for at least 30 minutes daily.

Caution: Do not attempt to overdo everything that will drastically bring down weight too rapidly. This will be taxing on the heart. The trick is to do everything in moderation.

Goodluck!

What is your weight? How physically active are you. Eat a lotta fried foods.

Your most likely eating too much salt and less water.

Do you go our for take aways, like pizzahut, mcdonalds, curries? Takeways are filled with lots of salt, especially fast food restaurants. The reason they taste so good is the salt, its a favor enhancer.

The best thing for you to do is cut down on fast food and takeways and salt altogether. You only supposed to have a tea spoon of salt a day.

Also, increase your water intakes can help your kidneys get rid of the salt and help prevent that salt forming into kidney stones.

High blood pressure can result in strokes and heart attacks. So yes, its very dangerous.

Your rapid heart bate could be down to the blood pressure being so high, or could be your psychically unfit or Anemia.

You might want to ask your doctor about a rapid heart beat.

If you are overweight and do not exercise daily, this is what happens to your body. Also, if you have family members who also have high blood pressure, your chances of having this and needing medication is high.

Blood pressure readings are frequently inaccurate if the cuff is not the right side, is not placed correctly on the arm and is not taken at the same time every day. You need to be sitting quietly for at least 10 minutes which includes no talking. Then take your blood pressure. Automatic blood pressure cuffs are notorious for giving inaccurate readings. Write down your numbers - do this for a week. Then, if all of them are elevated, see your doctor. Weight loss and exercise and eating a healthy diet is the only way to NOT have to take blood pressure medication. While sitting quietly, take your pulse also. This will give you a more accurate picture of what your resting heart rate is. Your heart rate varies up and down with each activity that you do - it is supposed to do that. But carrying around a lot of weight can elevate your heart rate but this too has to be taken after 10 minutes of sitting quietly.

Get some accurate numbers, if elevated, see a doctor

Studies have shown that younger people are developing high blood pressure, heart disease & seeing more & more younger people becoming diabetics, compared to back in the 1980,s, this is because of what the new generation is eating & what their not doing, & thats excersise, the younger generation now has more video games, computers, & more selection when it comes to t.v, & lets not even get into the food selection, geez. At the age of 15 your blood pressure is thru the roof, Im a 40 year old woman & have never had my bp this high, Im also a mom of a 15 year old son, so as a mom I must recomend that you dont take this lightly & you start doing what it takes to get this lowered, excersise & eat right. & I do hope your parents are aware of this?

Yes, blood pressure that high is dangerous and can lead to a stroke. You need to be under a doctor's care. The first steps to lower blood pressure are a healthy low salt diet and exercise but as high as your blood pressure is you will probably need medication
