No. Diabetics actually have a harder time burning fat. When the body has too much energy (which comes from complex and simple carbohydrates) it begins to store it as fat. Diabetics need carbohydrates to live, and many do not have the correct balance of healthy foods in their diet to promote weight-loss.

Most diabetics have probably lost a significant amount of weight before, but through dangerous means. A diabetic can easily lose loads of weight in a short space of time by simply cutting off their insulin supply. This is called Diabulimia and is very dangerous, as you are instigating Ketosis, which can cause long term or permanent damage to your kidneys.

A diabetic has to work twice as hard to lose weight and keep it off, especially when it comes to trying to maintain a healthy blood glucose level.
