Is it normal with gallbladder problems not to gain any weight?!
Question: lately i have been eating constantly and not gaining any weight. this has been happening for about a month and a week ago i had really bad stomach pains. i went to the doc and they said that i have sludge and possibly a stone in my gallbladder. i am probably going have to have it removed and i was wondering if it could cause me to lose weight?

When I was having gallbladder problems I lost weight because I couldn't eat. Everything that passed my lips including water burned and hurt as soon as it reached my gallbladder. Severe indigestion and burning pain in my back and gallbladder area. After 4 months of tests and not finding any real problems my doctor finally suggested it be removed. The surgeon agreed but told me after the surgery that until he got in there he didn't know if he should be removing it either. Come to find out it was completely free of sludge or stones...what it was was inflamed like an appendix ready to burst!! I was told that they can rupture and it can be a lot worse than an appendix rupturing when they do as all the bile acids go into the abdominal region and can cause severe injury and possible death! I did gain some weight after I had it removed...once the pain was gone and I was able to eat and enjoy food again...some people experience diarrhea with some foods after gallbladder removal. I didn't but everyone is different. Good luck!!
