How do you get gum off of the eyelid, and eyebrow?!

Question: My three year old son apparently slept with gum last night, and woke up with it stuck to his eyelid and eyebrow. Very tender spots. I have tried peanut butter and ice, neither worked. Any ideas?

try a moisturizer, or olive oil.

my daughters have gum in thier hair right now, and nothing is working I'm scared I'm going to have to cut a couple inches off thier hair...

edit: I just sprayed some suave detangler (less than $2 at Wal-mart) into thier hair and the gum slid right out, maybe you should try that with his eyebrow?)

best of luck to you.

have him soak (play) in the bathtub for a while.

Use baby oil. It won't hurt if it gets in his eye.

:(

mayonnaise that works every time :]

go to a doctor and have him/her sort it out

tie a string from the gum to the doorknob and go outside furiously...

DO YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF NOW!

he's human right? doesnt he produce oil on his skin?
worse comes to worse just keep washing his eye lid with warm water and soap. It will eventually rub off.

Moist facecloth for a few minutes.

peanut butter... but ya may just wanna shave it off.... oh, and stop chewing gum with eye

wash it off and use soap

try rubbing alcohol...or try to dry it and then break it off.. idk..lol

okay so just put him in very warm water and dont give him gum anymore gosh dont you know babbies can choke frum that stuff take him to the doctor

Why is a three year old chewing gum. You're lucky it ended up on his face. He could have choked on it. As for getting it out, I'd call the pediatricians office and ask for advice. You don't want to hurt the little one trying to take care of a bad situation.

try wetting the area with water and very gentle pull it off when good and wet.

Oh no!!!

Well, I suppose you could try heating it up, as gross as that sounds, and try to get off as much as you can.

Then, I would try peanut butter again...thats what my mom always used on me!

If that doesn't work, You could have to shave off his eyebrow...he's only three so hopefully it won't cause him any life long embarrassments. Just slip a little beanie on him when you go out!

you can soak your face in a medium hot bowl of water and hopefull that will work and you can also put a facial cream on it or hand cream and you can message it in and it should disolve if the bowl of water doesn't work and i know who you feel. good luck!!!

try baby oil, don't
worry im sure it will work. babies do things like that.

good luck
laney
i have 6 grandbabies

There is nothing you could could reslly do at this point excet cut the gum carefuly with a knife around hair.

I would try washing it off with a soft soap that is gentle to eyes like johnsons baby wash or something. If that doesn't work I would call his doctor for advice. Hope he gets it out!

a three yr old chewing gum?
jiminy.. he could have choked on it, you think?

anyways, peanut butter// alot of it, and try oil//cooking oil and shortening.
use a wash cloth and goop it on, rub, and rub it in.

Call a hospital and ask for help.

You should Never ever give a small child chewing gum, for any reason, and you should always check to see what your child is doing before they go to bed.

Are you a new Mom or what?
sorry, but shame on you

you canit try to cu it of it thats wat i did once and u can try to run hot water over and it will lossen that try buy hand

Ouch! Try a doctor or, put some melted butter on your fingers and try to peel the gum off.

I got news for you, dear, that child is going to be ruined for life after this. I am far too responsible of a parent myself for something like that to happen but my sister-in-law... well her daughter fell asleep with gum once and it got in her nose.

It took a ER doctor and two nurses to hold that girl down while they pulled it out and it pulled every hair in her nose out with it. To this day she wets herself a little when she sees a piece of gum. She is 10.

God help you!
