What do you do about asthma that just won't go away or be controlled?!

Question: I've tried so many things. Got rid of claritin and allegra since they didn't seem to help. I take singulair/zyrtec daily, I take symbicort twice daily, used to take advair but that didn't help too much, Atrovent, nasonex in the nose, and for emergency I take xopenex and prendisone, and sometimes even after all of that in one day,

it still won't go away. I still get the tightness, the strange allergic, watery eye sensation with the burning and trouble breathing, and it just won't stop.

Some days it's better than others but I get times when I just simply cannot function and I"m afraid of leaving my house, because the asthma symptoms may kick in while I'm on the road or away from the hospital and I'll get very scared. It's scary, even when you take your emergency meds, you still have to go through all the uncomfortable symptoms that have you questioning if this is "the big one."

Asthma is scaring me and preventing me from leading a normal life.

Is there hope or is this it?

I had asthma from birth until I grow out of it with medication and lots of hospital visits. I went on to play college baseball for the University of Kentucky but it kept me from joining the Air Force ond I was not able to play any high school sports. Stick with what the Doctor prescribs for you and it will come under controll. I am 48 now and it has been years since it had trouble with it. I live a very normal live but I don't over do it. It is very hard when you are young I know. You have to stay strong. BEST WISHES!!!

How old are you?

Do you smoke?
