Are Salicylic Acid Wart Removers safe to use?!

Question: I recently figured out I had a wart on my right pointy finger. So when i went to work one day I bought what looked like a good solution to get rid of the wart. It was Dr. Scholl's Clear Away Salicylic Acid wart remover bandaids. I've been using them for a few days now like the instructions say to. The skin around the wart is peeling off and it is very tender now and is starting to hurt. Should I continue using the wart remover or give it some time and just use the freeze away stuff.

We have used the ' bandaids ' also to remove warts from hands. Her's too, began to peel off but she did have the pain. I quit using it and let it air out and it has returned.

Her doctor said to use : Duofilm but I can't find it anywhere.
Not at walmart, kmart or the military installation's bx.

She has used the Freeze Away stuff but that too would sting her.

So, I'm not sure what you could use to remove them. I'm sorry I was not able to tell you what to use but hopefully something will work ...

I've had a wart on my finger for like, 2 years, and i have tried using both those products and neither of them work!

yeah

It takes a good 10 days for Dr. Scholls to do the trick. It would take more than one treatment of freezing the wart to remove it, too. The peeling skin is normal. Keep using it and wash it throroughly between treatements with soap and water to prevent infection. If it looks like it's getting infected STOP immediately and see a dermatologist.

When you use that it is reccommended not to get it on heathy skin. I would keep using them but cut them somehow if you can so it is only on the wart. Or you can buy Compound W. It comes in drops so it is easier to get it directly on the wart and not on the surrounding skin. Just put it on and cover it with a bandaid.

If you can eat Acetyl-Salicylic Acid (Aspirin) then it definitely safe to remove Warts.

theres either that or you can burn the wart which is much more painful
