Why can't bulimic people stop throwing up?!

Question: I don't get it; if they want to stop, why don't they? Does their body start throwing up on its own or something?

They automatically throw up when they see food because they've been psychologically training themselves. It's like those experiments where if the person says the wrong thing, they shock you. So now the person knows not to say the wrong thing.

In the beginning, a bulimic person begins to make themselves throw up whenever food is involved. As they become more involved in this eating disorder, they no longer have to make themselves. It's just an instant reaction.

its a form of dieting gorging them puking so as not to gain weight

It becomes a habit I guess. I don't get it either.

Yes, the body will, after a while, start "throwing up on its own" but the disease is more mental than physical.
